π In Today’s Real Life…
Hey there friends and fellow animal lovers π
Yesterday was one of those days that makes you stop and think - about your body, your heart, and everything you carry.
Because the truth is - we don’t just live life…
we carry it - in our bodies, in our pain, in our love.

π Fibro & Healing | My Health Update - Finding Strength in Hard Days
For those who are new here - a little about me.
I live with fibromyalgia - which means chronic pain is part of my daily life.
Recently, I’ve been dealing with more than usual:
- A lump in my back shoulder
- Broken wisdom teeth
- A chipped front tooth
- Lung damage that has made quitting smoking no longer a choice - but a necessity
Stress has played a big role too.
Since moving to Vredenburg - we’ve faced emotional strain, including losing a car we paid over R70,000 for due to family conflict.
And stress doesn’t just stay in your mind - it settles in your body.
But I’ve made a decision:
π It’s time to heal.
Right now, I’m taking small steps:
- Primrose oil and mineral supplements
- Gentle morning stretches
- Reducing smoking slowly - one cigarette at a time, spacing them out more each day
Because healing isn’t instant - it’s intentional.
π§ 3 Things I’ve Learned About Fibromyalgia
- It’s not just physical - it’s deeply connected to stress and environment
- There is no simple test - diagnosis is based on lived experience
- Symptoms vary - no two journeys look the same

πΎ Pet Stories & Rescue | Nina’s Story - Love, Trauma and Patience
Last October - during a heatwave - my husband found Nina collapsed near a petrol station.
Alone.
Starving.
Dehydrated.
He had been feeding her for days before calling me:
“I’m bringing home a tired, hungry, very dirty dog.”
And that’s how her story with us began.
When Nina arrived - she was covered in sores, fleas, and layers of dirt.
It took four washes before her true coat appeared - black and white with a perfect heart-shaped patch.
We were lucky.
From my previous work in animal care - I had access to donated treatments:
- Ointments
- Flea treatments
- Vitamins
And slowly… her body started healing.
But trauma doesn’t wash off.
Nina still struggles:
- She cries when left alone
- She barks constantly
- She panics in the car
- She has moments of fear and aggression
And the hardest part?
π She only feels safe with my husband
We’ve tried calming solutions - including natural options - but nothing has fully worked yet.
A behaviourist is out of budget.
Giving up on her is not an option.
Because rescue is not convenience - it’s commitment.

π Life & Creativity | Blood in the Snow - Chapter 13
Here’s a glimpse into my son’s story - where mystery deepens and reality begins to shift.
I watched him from the crack in my door -
my brother… or something pretending to be him.He moved wrong - smiled wrong - and then disappeared into silence.
That night, the whispers didn’t come from him…
they came from the walls.
The question remains:
π Who are we… when everything begins to change?
