🐾 Pet Stories & Rescue | Nina’s Story - Love, Anxiety and Choosing to Stay

Last October - during a heatwave - my husband found a dog collapsed on the side of the road.

Tired
Scared
Covered in red dust

---

After four baths…

👉 her true self appeared

A beautiful black-and-white coat
With a heart-shaped patch

---

We named her Nina 💛

---

But rescue doesn’t end with saving -

👉 sometimes it’s just the beginning

---

🐶 The Challenge

We already had two dogs - and our home only allows two.

Nina’s anxiety made things harder:

• barking when left alone
• fear of abandonment
• strong attachment to my husband

---

We tried everything:

• shelters
• social media
• adoption posts

---

But no one came forward

---

And then we realised…

👉 she had already chosen her home

---

So we chose her too

---

We were advised to use stronger methods -

Even a shock collar

---

But that didn’t feel right

---

Because for us:

👉 rescue is not about control
👉 it’s about understanding

We are still learning
Still trying
Still showing up
