๐ŸถNina’s Rescue Story

Last October, during a sweltering heatwave, my husband found a dog collapsed by the side of the road. Tired, scared, and covered in red dust—so much that we couldn't even see her true colors.  He brought her home, and after four baths, she revealed her beautiful black-and-white coat, complete with a heart-shaped patch on her side. We named her Nina❤.

We live in a Villa near the old-age home and the church. The villa allows two dogs, and we already have two. But Nina’s distress when we leave the house became a challenge. Her barking led neighbors to think she was being hur❤.

We called shelters (one had 65 dogs awaiting adoption) and posted on local Facebook pages but no one came forward. She had been spayed, but there were no leads.  We have tried effortlessly to get her adopted, but no response❤.

My daughter visited for Mother's Day and reminded us how bonded Nina is to my husband—she only eats when he’s home. So we decided to keep her-, and help her feel safe❤.

We’re trying everything to calm her anxiety. Friends suggested a shock collar—but we’re hesitant. We want to give her a loving, stable home, not cause fear❤.

Have you dealt with a dog like Nina? Please share your tips for calming anxious pets in the comments. Would you use a shock collar on your dog?

My Finds for Anxious Dogs:

Two-Pack Bark Collar.  People generally find that the bark collar is not harmful to their dogs' skin or coat. Many customers appreciate that it doesn't hurt their dogs and is comfortable for them to wear.

*  Hemp Oil For Dogs, most pet owners have said that this hemp oil helps their pets with separation anxiety.

*  Dog Pheromones Calming Diffuser 3 in 1 Advanced Kit Appeasing Pheromone Diffuser For Anxiety Relief.  This Dog pheromone diffuser is designed to help with separation anxiety in dogs.  I love this one for it is safer for dogs way of calming Nina?

*  A more affordable option would be Nodfens Calming Collars for Dogs.  I would use this for a traveling purpose, the pheromones have a natural calming effect on dogs.  Wow, this is a great find!!!

*  Nina Loves Snack time, Calming Chews for dogs, Pet relaxant treat for anxiety & stress relief, and help with separation anxiety, this is a must-have!

*  Recently, Nina started playing, something she was not accustomed to.  In the beginning, she would attack my husband if he wanted to play with her.  The Yellow 17.7 in the Mellow Dog Toys Calming Duck Dog Toy - Might be good when she is alone with our other pets?

What rhymes with orange

Porange
Storange
Lonrenge
Forthinge

Pen click click click
Not a word that sticks
Searching for something that fits

Boeinge
Flowinge
Lowinge
Trowlinge

Rip rip rip out the paper
No wait, where's my stapler
I have the pen, I am the maker
Not a faker

Lorienge
Gorange
Forange
Koreinge

Tap tap tap my foot on the floor
Knocking at my door
My loud neighbor snores
These old creaky floors

Snorange
Flooeange

STOP

Take a breath and look around
There is so much to be found
Take a breath and smile
It's been a while

It's fine if I don't find
A word to combine
What does it matter

Stand from my chair
And look outside from a stair
Life isint fair
I think

That's why life gives you lemons
Cause nothing rhymes with orange

Dreaming

Blue sky, green grass
Beautiful fields, time winding past
We sit and wait
For a better state

a better life, a better meaning,
Lay in the grass, dreaming
Staring into the great beyond
Forgetting about the ground I lay on

Always reaching for a new height
Never stopping to enjoy the sight
Never waiting for the sun to set
always staring at the stars

Planning my next journey

What will tomorrow bring?

Diary Entry 1 1978 November 2nd Dear Diary, Today we are driving to that stupid timeshare Dad bought in the 60s "as a great investment opportunity" - whatever that means. Mom keeps suggesting dumb games to "pass the time." Dad is going to start screeching at the top of his lungs again in like 20 minutes, and worst of all, I forgot my phone charger and cassette player at home (which also includes my headphones), so I can't even pretend not to hear his request to join along in the song he knows none of the lyrics to. This is going to be a long drive to that old horror house this year. ____________________________________ My pen glides over t...
